Description : If you’re looking at this, chances are you know Seiko’s series of Tuna can watches and where the now discontinued SBBN017 fit in the hierarchy. The watch was my go to daily beater and always among the few watches I would take with me on vacations. However my taste in watches have evolved (I’m getting old) and I have not worn this since last year. It’s just been sitting in the drawer gathering dust.

All 3 straps shown are included. Stock runner strap is unworn. Black 24mm strap is from BJ. Brown 22mm leather strap was quickly handmade by me while on holiday as my rubber strap had broken. It was hastily made (so excuse the stitching) and made extra long to fit outside a wetsuit.

The shroud has protected the watch well and has taken some knicks at the 11 and 3 o’clock position as the last four photos show (red circles). There is also a small dent at 11 o’clock on the shroud. The bezel doesn’t turn all the way due to the dent on the shroud. It’s not an issue with the bezel as it was cleaned recently and it turns easily when the shroud is removed. So if you decide to turn the bezel anyway and it gets stuck, don’t force it. Loosen the shroud to reset the bezel. I will include a small hex key for this. Suitable for daily wear but not for diving unless you replace the shroud. I didn’t bother to think about replacing the shroud as I know I’m not going to give this much wrist time anymore.

Price: Sold. Went to a better place on 19 September 2016.
